This is a giclee limited edition reproduction of a 1938 Watercolour on paper . The Paddle Steamer 'Britannia' (which Ravilious misspells here as 'Brittania') worked the route from the Devon port of Ilfracombe to Weston-super-Mare and still holds the Bristol Channel speed record of 1 hour 56 minutes for a journey by paddle steamer between these ports.  It was sketched by Ravilious during a trip to Bristol with John Nash.
